Blender Digital Launches Free Chrome Extension That Shows Restaurants What They Keep From DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub

Payout Ratio for Delivery Apps adds one number to the DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub merchant portals: the share of each sale that actually reaches your bank. It's free, it runs entirely in your browser, and it's live on the Chrome Web Store.

Delivery app statements show sales, commission, promotions, ad spend, fees and adjustments on separate lines, but none of them shows the share of the sale that's left at the end. Owners end up working it out by hand, or reacting to a single order that paid out far less than expected. The extension calculates that share, the payout ratio, on the pages owners already use and shows it next to the numbers it comes from.

The idea came from Blender Digital's client work. When owners first start looking closely at their statements, many go through orders one at a time and worry when one pays out at 40%. Across a full month, those swings even out. Seeing the ratio on every statement and payout page makes the monthly picture easier to read and the single bad order easier to put in context.

“Payout ratio is the most important number when you sell on the delivery apps, and it's the one the portals make you work out yourself. Nearly every owner I've worked with has looked at one order, seen a low payout and assumed the whole channel was broken. I built this so they could see the real number on the pages they already check.”

Hassan Shaikh, founder of Blender Digital

WHAT IT DOES

Payout ratios inside all three merchant portals.

DoorDash Merchant Portal

Payout ratios on statements, payouts, transactions, order details and the order pop-outs in Ratings & reviews.

Uber Eats Manager

Payout ratios on the payments overview, statements, payouts by order, order details and customer reviews, plus the share of sales discounted on item campaigns such as BOGOs.

Grubhub for Restaurants

Payout ratios on the transactions totals table and prepaid orders.

PRIVACY

Your numbers stay in your browser.

The extension reads values already shown on the merchant portal page, such as sales, net payout and discounts, and does the math locally. It doesn't collect, store or send restaurant financial data, login details or browsing history, and it doesn't use analytics or ad trackers.

It only runs inside the DoorDash Merchant Portal, Uber Eats Manager and Grubhub for Restaurants. The full details are in the extension privacy policy.

AVAILABILITY

Free on the Chrome Web Store.

Payout Ratio for Delivery Apps is available now for Google Chrome on desktop at no cost. After installing, open a statements or payouts page in your merchant portal and the ratios appear next to the existing figures.

COMMON QUESTIONS

About the extension.

What is a payout ratio?

Payout ratio is the share of your delivery app sales that actually reaches your bank, after commission, promotions, ads, fees and refunds. With no promotions, restaurants usually keep about 70 to 85 cents per dollar. While running offers to grow, about 50 to 58 cents is normal.

Is the Payout Ratio for Delivery Apps extension free?

Yes. It's free to install from the Chrome Web Store and has no paid tier.

Does the extension send my restaurant's data anywhere?

No. It reads numbers already shown on the merchant portal page and calculates the ratio in your browser. It doesn't send restaurant financial data to Blender Digital or anyone else, and it only runs inside the DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub merchant portals.

What do the green and red numbers mean?

Ratios of 50.0% or higher show in green and anything below 50.0% shows in red. One order can pay anywhere from about 30% to 80%, so judge the channel on a full month rather than a single red order.

Is it made by DoorDash, Uber Eats or Grubhub?

No. Blender Digital built it independently. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by DoorDash, Uber or Grubhub.
